200. 10 Days Early Morning Prayer for 2021
We are starting our very first prayer meeting at The Seed. It is from 1/4-18 (except weekends), and it starts at 6 am on Zoom. Many people want to get in the habit of Prayer. But it is difficult to do alone. So, members will form a group of three and, after the sermon, pray together for 10 minutes for each other’s urgent prayer request for 2021, then are free to leave or continue to pray on their own. Having two other prayer partners will help you attend the meeting faithfully and learn to pray out aloud.
I will be preaching from the book, “Better Decisions, Fewer Regrets” written by Andy Stanley. You will learn 5 Questions that will dramatically help you to make better decisions. It is a short book, so I encourage you to buy the book and read along. Each year, we will go through a different book together.
Many people are not sure why we need to pray. Tim Keller says, “To fail to pray.. is not to merely break some religious rule—it is a failure to treat God as God.” Prayer is not just a life jacket we wear when we are in trouble. Even when all things are going right, our heart remains unsatisfied when we fail to pray. So, Prayer is the confession of our heart that we are empty without God. That is why Prayer is powerful. It invites God to save us from both problem AND pride. Also, as a church, bringing non-believers to Christ is a supernatural mission that requires Prayer’s supernatural power.
To sign up, form a group of three before signing up, and have the leader sign up. A good prayer group is made up of people in different faith stages. If you can’t find partners, sign up individually, and we will match you with other participants. Praying church is a thriving church. Consider signing up so you can start your new year with the hope of answered prayers and better decisions. You can sign up at theseedmc.ca/emp
