335. Hosting House Church Conference for Pastors
The 113th House Church (HC) conference for pastors is just around the corner. It is happening on 9/11-14. A total of 127 pastors and missionaries are coming from all over the world to deepen their understanding of house church ministry, learn from each other and renew their passion for restoring New Testament church. It happens twice a year and I try to attend as faithfully as possible.
Our church hosted 10 years ago and many pastors praised how well it was prepared. Some said it was one of their top three conferences. Despite the limited resources and experience, I believe it was our united effort to serve the pastors that made the difference.
One of the things that was shared in the first preparation meeting that inspired me was the challenge to serve the participants as doing it unto Jesus. Jesus said that when we take care of those in need, he will treat it as if we did it unto him. (Mat 25:40) And when we serve these pastors and missionaries, the impact goes beyond their benefit, as it will also influence the churches and mission fields they serve. It will be a great privilege to serve them, as it will be ultimately serving Jesus this way.
We are one church of two congregations. But as we do services and administration separately, it is these church-wide events that provide us the opportunity to work together with a shared vision, deepening the level of unity. The conference has many moving parts that require much coordination (primarily rides) and help from anyone who is available. I am helping out with the binder production and will be helping with rides as well. If your shepherd provides ways you can serve during the conference, please participate and experience the joy of serving Jesus through serving the participants.
